May 12, 2009 Economic indicators out this week
A few economic indicator reports are due out this week. Each providing important information about where the economy may be heading:
Tuesday — Trade balance for March (expected -$29 billion)
Wednesday — U.S. retail sales for April (March was -1.2% it is expected to be closer to 0.0% for April)
Thursday — Producer price index for April (expected +0.1%)
Friday — Consumer confidence rating for May (April consumer confidence was 65.1…it is expected to be around 66 for May)
Also there was an interesting article in the NY Times Sunday about the economy in Boise (which definitely has some similarities to the Salt Lake metro area).
