Things are looking up for Utah’s economy and municipal revenues.  January’s sales tax distribution (November’s sales) is up 8.2% and average wages and employment numbers continue to improve.  While the US Consumer Sentiment Index is still low, it has improved by 24% since December of 2008.  For the first time in a long time we are reporting only one “red light” for our key economic indicators.  Residential construction values are slowly improving, but are still in the “red zone.”
